We often start projects with a Feasibility Study. This is a proactive way of getting useful information out of the details of your requirements as well as testing the obvious issues of cost, build out and the likelihood of getting necessary permissions for the work. In today's economic climate, this is a vital stage of developing a workable brief and setting the parameters for a successful project.
Preparing feasibility studies is a cooperative venture. The skills of other professionals will almost always be needed. This will vary according to the nature of the project but usually involve quantity surveying and structural engineering as a minimum and often several other specialist skills. For our part we resource feasibility studies with our most experienced partners who not only have the experience to make their own contribution but who have the ability to act as a team leader who can coordinate the work of other specialists and pull the whole into a clear and appropriate report.
Project ManagementProject Management is a key skill integrated in all of our work from initial feasibility studies through project completion. Link Architecture has spent years refining the process to ensure that your project will be completed on time, on budget and to your satisfaction. Our role, however, is more than just budgeting, scheduling and quality control. We work closely with you, other team members, building code authorities and other regulatory bodies in order to facilitate information flow, identify and eliminate potential obstacles and help mitigate any risk.
You'll feel confident in our abilities to guide you through every step of the process and to work as a team. Link Architecture understands that the relationship and trust built is the foundation for a successful project.
This often has a negative connotation in the architecture, engineering and construction industries. Many professionals associate it with "cheapening" of the original design of a project to cut costs—taking away higher quality materials in order to meet a budget. While cost savings is sometimes an aspect of value engineering, it encompasses so much more than just that.
Link Architecture's goal of value engineering is to research alternative materials and methods that are cost-effective, yet maintain the design intent. Sometimes Value Engineering may cost more up front, but ads value to a project in the long run. The process begins during pre-construction and continues through to project completion.
Value Engineering not only delivers the intent of Link Architecture's designs at your predefined budget but also enhances the value of the project. That's a win-win situation in this economy.
Construction ConsultingWe often serve as a Construction Consultant where we provide both design and construction advice. Link Architecture's understanding of building codes, regulations and materials are often much more exhaustive than most general contractors. It's important for us to have a solid understanding of the skill level of contractors so we can refer you to highly recommended resources. In other instances, we consult on Design/Build contracts. This is ideal situation where the construction team is motivated to work with Link Architecture to develop a design with constructability in mind. In this way, it is possible for us to creatively find ways to reduce construction costs without reducing the function of the final product.
Peer Reviews are sometimes difficult but it's comforting to have a second opinion on a proposed project. Link Architecture doesn't blindly accept the scope and requirements of a project. It's crucial we understand the reason behind the idea and requirements of the projects so there won't be a missed opportunity to offer improvements and to ensure that it is a viable solution to the business problem. We also analyze the team structure, timeline and work streams. Its important to know the key members of the team, what their roles are and the overall plan for project delivery.
Link has more than 25 years of expertise in comprehensive management and implementation of architectural solutions to provide superior peer reviews for many types of projects

We often function as educator, evaluator or investigator in a manner that appropriately supports the needs of our client. All case documents and evidence will be reviewed as well as all applicable codes, regulations and standards. Link Architecture possesses the knowledge and credentials necessary to help you prepare for trial and provide testimony as a credible expert witness.
