DCI is fast becoming the leader in the plasma industry. They tasked Link Architecture to create plasma centers that were reminiscent of hotel reception areas rather than poorly ran governmental institutions. Find out how we helped them realize their vision.
Read Featured Case StudyLink Architecture prides itself on helping clients create successful brands. Pharmaform is one of those companies. We've been partnering with them for more than seven years since their very first laboratory located in a retail space in east Austin. Since then, they have blossomed into a multi-million dollar firm and their space requirements have changed significantly. As part of a multi-phase pharmaceutical research and production facility, Link Architecture designed a facility to be built in phases to accommodate their current and future budget. Staying true to their brand, they didn't want to approach the build as a superfluous high-end "gold plated" approach. What we provided was a cost-effective laboratory that met needs and budget responsibly.
Rules Based Medicine is a startup biomarker laboratory extracting data from an individual's blood proteins. They required offices, laboratory, testing areas and associated support functions. As with any startup, budget was tight and we efficiently utilized existing office space that was available to them.
Cenetron's decision in architectural firms was easy. They looked to Link Architecture to design their new spaces because we they were extremely satisfied with their original facility. They knew we were able to build their new facility on time and within a tight budget. One important design feature in this new space was a sense of openness. We took every opportunity to incorporate natural light in all facets of the facility and still provide the necessary components of a RNA laboratory.
Projects on this scale usually involve multiple teams. The team was successful in building CPL's new facility because of past experience in managing complex projects and teams. Since CPL had considerably outgrown their existing facility, the solution was to create two separate wings joined at a common space. One wing contains corporate and administrative functions and the other houses the laboratory and testing functions. The joined common space allowed communication between employees to flow freely between the separated spaces.
* Work done while at TAG International Austin, TexasBiocrest was already an established company in California. They build RNA and DNA testing kits and also do product and biological testing and research. They decided to expand into McKinney Falls, Texas to be geographically closer to their main clients. Their expansion unfortunately didn’t go as plan and they contacted us to finish the project late in the development. We re-evaluated the situation and created a new plan moving forward. The end result was state-of-the-art corporate headquarters on large rural site designed to be integrate into the local environment. It’s an achievement considering the challenges the terrain and environment presented.
